To prevent constipation and proper detoxification, adequate amount of water and fibre are required to have a healthy digestive system.

How to prevent through you daily diet:
You should consume at least 2-3 litres of water (the colour of your urine will be able to tell.  There should be no odour and it should be colourless) and fiber of at least 10 apples a day.

Health is always very important to me. Birds nests lovers must read

Are you a bird nests soup lovers?

I used to till I heard from a health sharing by Dr Chen Jau Fei at her Live With Dr Chen.

Many people claim its benefits. However I would like to share the following and you decide if you would like to continue consuming.

Just a short introduction on how birds nests came about.  Most birds nests are built during the breeding season by the male swiftlet over a period of 35 days. They take the shape of a shallow cup stuck to the cave wall. The nests are composed of interwoven strands of salivary laminae cement.  Some scientific studies have shown that nitrite may naturally form in birds nests due to fermentation under certain temperature and humidity. Some studies also suggested that high level of nitrite in birds nest may due to environmental contamination e.g. from bird droppings which contain high level of nitrate.

Will you eat a piece of bread left on the table for at least 1 month (assuming it won't rot) which might have ants, cockroaches and insects crawling passed and dust settling on it? Thinking...

Many studies have shown that coffee and tea are good, however their caffeine can impair our repair function.  Would you still drink it?

Some people find me too health conscious and telling me eat in moderation.  Every little (chemicals or saving money) can adds to plenty in day, weeks, months.  If we can advocate to our children that little savings can grow to plenty, so does the chemicals accumulated in our body, isnt it?

 Diseases do not come over night.  It comes with accumulation of unhealthy diet and lifestyle.  Are you aware that almost every single food we eat daily are fortified with synthetic chemicals and a tiny amount from each food will add up to a chunk in a day thus lead to premature onset of diseases and cancers.

Colon cancer is 1 of the top 3 cancer rate in Singapore and it takes 10 to 20 years to be diagnosed.

I will avoid as much chemicals foods if possible especially for my children.

Some thoughts Oct 2014

It is so common to see young children falling sick and hospitalised nowadays. It is so saddening.

We have to accept the fact that the foods we eat are not as organic as our grandparents generation to combat premature diseases due to world modernisation.

Are we looking for solution to it or let it be?  The world is about cause and effect.  Beware that short term (solutions) can come back and haunt us.

Someone said this:
If you eat foods made by men in white coat; be prepared to be taken care by men in white coat.

Another friend told me this too.
Many people work hard thinking that they are working hard for their retirement.  Ironically,  they are working hard for the men in white coat.

If you want to lead a quality lifestyle, start the following:
1. A healthy diet.  Eat more fruit & vegetables.
2. A healthy sleeping pattern.  Sleep early and wake up early.
3. A healthy exercise regime.  Adequate amount of exercise. Ie 10,000 steps daily.
4. A healthy emotion. Stay happy and positive.

If you take short cut,  be prepared to get what's in line at the end of the journey.
