Monthly 121 date with each child, Alyssa

Quick lunch as she requested for starbucks

Satisfied her craving and having our 121 chat

1 of my goals for 2022 is to have monthly 121 date with each child.  As my children moving to teens stage, it is important to provide and support them with their needs as their developed.  They do not need much of physical needs but mental and emotional needs at this stage.  Therefore quality time with them to hear them out their challenges and aspiration is 1 of the ways to see them grow healthily.

Today 1 of the interesting topics i had with Alyssa who is turning 14 years old in March 2023, was, she asked me this, "Why aint we allow to take milk?  My friends just find me weird that we aint allow to drink milk."

Instead of the normal instinct of babbling away with sharing the facts to convince her, i decided to do things differently.

"Alyssa, you have a phone, I give you 5min. We can have a debate / discussion or engagement.  You tell me if milk is good after your research."

After 5min, she listed a few facts, according to her research and i asked her, "is milk good?"

She listed the followings.
1. Milk and other dairy products are the top sources of artery-clogging saturated fat in the American diet. Milk products also contain cholesterol. Diets high in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol increase the risk of heart disease, which remains America's top killer.
2. Some studies indicate that dairy consumption, including whole milk, is closely linked with rates of prostate cancer, ...
3. The lactose in cow's milk can be difficult for people to digest, resulting in nausea, cramps, gas, bloating, and diarrhea...
4. Cheese is made from milk.  Some cheese can be saltier than sea water.
5. Antibiotics, cholesterol etc

So she concluded herself that, dairy milk is no good.  Is she going to drink milk, she said, "No".
"Do i have to convince you, Alyssa?"
"No, i believe in facts."

I didn't have to convince her.  On the other hand, i told her that she can now confidently explain to her friends.

Probiotic, help or harm?

"... there are 500 hundreds species bacteria ... exist in our body. "
"Naturally, the body has its own internal gut and microflora and this is self regulated."
"However,  in spite of the proclaimed benefits,  experts say there remains many gaps in probiotic research. "

Is probiotic really beneficial to us?
We have more than 500 (good) bacteria in our intestines.  Are the 3 foreign sources enough? Are we overly depend on them?

We can self stimulate the growth of good bacteria with a balance wholesome diet.

Commercial products with the 3 good bacteria mentioned in the articles,
Products = water + sugar + dairy milk + 3 good bacteria

Sugar triggers cancer cells

So no dairy milk then what???

Dairy milk leaches calcium from Singapore channel news.

Read here.
http://naturalsociety.com/3-companies-using-toxic-gmos-baby-formula/

I have decided to stop replenishing my children Formula Milk and cows produces like cheese and yoghurt.  It is a major decision indeed and i am gradually weaning them off from the above.  I used to compare the amount of nutrition facts on the tins on which has a high "nutrient values".  I do not blame the manufacturers as it is all about supply and demand.  Parents are looking for high "nutrient values" thus they added them for us and sell the FM at a high price of course.

Do look at the Nutrition Facts at the back of the tin.  Do you see plenty of Vitamin x and Vitamin Y and Vitamin Z etc.  Please refer to: http://wholesomesuperfood.blogspot.sg/2013/06/how-much-do-you-exactly-know-about.html .  You will be amazed at what you have been feeding your children.

So no dairy milk then what???  May i ask, what is the intention of giving animals milk?  Or are we just following the trend?  What we intend to get from the dairy milk is basically protein and calcium.  Do you know animals' milk leaches out more calcium?  Do you know dairy milk is singled out as the biggest dietary cause of osteoporosis?  Please refer to: http://wholesomesuperfood.blogspot.sg/2013/08/do-you-know-drinking-animals-milk.html

I have been giving my children our NUTRIFRESH (wholesome Non GMO soy beverage with fibre and fruits and vegetables) with OXYGINBERRY beverage (6 type of plant food with high antioxidants and phytochemicals) and EVERSTAY-D (high fibre wholesome plant food) as morning milk and 3 OSEED (high calcium, protein, fibre etc).  Please refer to the following for our breakfast ideas:

(Contact us at +65 97919279 if you would like to try out the above)

Go for Non GMO Soy instead of GMO.  There are controversies about soy which i believe is due to difference between Non GMO and GMO.  The latter has had DNA introduced into it in a way other than the combination of male and female gametes. This process may be carried out using “recombinant DNA (rDNA) technology.” As a widely planted and versatile crop, soybeans have become a popular subject of genetic modification.  For more details, please refer to:

To supplement the children calcium and protein intakes, you could consider the following plant food.
